Our Approach
Our Approach
It’s easy to see why El Sombrero has seen so much growth given our passion for cooking delicious, one of a kind dishes, and the staff’s dedication in making every single customer feel at home. The restaurant is also closed on Sunday’s as way to show appreciation to their staff so that they can spend that day with their loved ones.
Our Story
Our Story
El Sombrero Mexican Restaurant was established in 2000 by owner, Mike Kittner, and started as just a two man show with Mike and one other cook. The original location at 1442 McCann Rd in Longview expanded its dining room in 2003 then again in 2011 with its third dining room area. Due to a lease issue, we were forced to close the doors end of 2022, with a move across town.
Now operating at 2005 Toler Road in Longview.
Our Kilgore location opened in 2005, but due to a structure fire, closed doors in August 2022. We will rebuild Kilgore in 2023.
Meet the Team
El Sombrero enjoys giving back in many ways. We are avid contributors to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We also give back locally by feeding local doctor offices and teachers and staff at surrounding schools.
Mike and the rest of the El Sombrero Family would love for you to stop by. Rather its to enjoy the $6 Margaritas on Monday and Thursday or to order some of our famous Papa Nachos, we would love for you to stop in and say “¡Hola!"
